Warm Up Drill
Another good drill to get the feet working. The player starts just behind the p spot and rolls the ball at the keeper, the keeper kicks the ball at a space just to the right of the player, the player needs to collect the ball requiring quick feet and then get a quick shot off to beat an advancing g.k.. These shots will be quick snap shots, NO big swings mostly pushes and flicks. |
|
This is the same type of drill as B but just further back in the circle. This means everything needs to be harder the 1st pass, the g.k. kick and the shot can be a hit. The key is to try and get the shot off as quickly as possible. The g.k. needs to remain on the line for this exercise. |

Technical Drills
Exercise for +- 7/8 players
Player starts at A and leads into the 9 yard area to receive a pass from position 1. He returns back to to A and then leads into the area to receive from position 2. He repeats this movement until received passes positions 1-5.
Next player repeats. Then move to B and do the same.
NB. Training footwork.

Tempo Drills
Player starts with ball at A. He dribbles into the D and has a quick shot. Then leads to receive from B for a reverse stick shot. Then to p-spot for a pass from C (snap shot). Then towards D for first time slap or bunt or half volley.
High tempo execution of shots.

Game Situations
Two teams of four strikers. 1 keeper and 3 defenders.
One team plays at a time.
The 4 strikers must work the ball quickly around the defenders and try and score. As soon as the ball moves out of the circle team A is replaced by team B. Which team can score the most goals?
A time limit will be introduced for the strikers to score. |
