Warm Up Drill
Player A passes to player B leading back toward top D. B uses good footwork to get feet around ball (after arcing) and passes quickly to baseline. B leads to p-spot and receives pass back from C. B slaps, bunts etc on goal. He receives another bouncing ball from player D. Repeat on LHS.

Technical Drills
Player A drives into circle and hits at pace at keeper. Keeper deflects ball back into path of advancing strikers who must pick up rebound and score.
Repeat from LHS.

Deflection training will take on various forms.
- Static deflections (pure technique)
- Combination of shot and deflections (movement and angles)
- Blind deflections

Tempo Drills
Player A runs through the ladder picks up a ball and executes a quick shot (lower grip hit), followed by a run to B where he picks up a ball and shoots quickly. He then leads into the box to receive from player 1. Player A then leads back to B to pick up another ball and shoots. Returns to box to receive pass from player 2 and shoots. Back to B for another ball and shot. Then into box to receive from player 3 and then back to B.
Total = 7 shots. |

Game Situations
On the coaches whistle A and B have to accelerate through the gate on the top of the circle and challenge for the stationery ball in the circle. Whoever receives the ball first must try and score past the keeper and challenging defender. A physical contest!

On the coaches whistle player A sprints to collect the ball placed in between himself and player B. As A is about to pick up the ball player B then becomes the defender. There is a keeper waiting to meet player A on the top of the circle. Player A must try and out sprint B and then beat the advancing keeper and score past the keeper in the goals. If B tackles A or picks up rebounds he can score. Competitive environment. Out of 8 balls who scores more goals? |
