Media and Advertising Information
TV cameras have visited Chelmer Park on several occasions in recent years to film members or teams for news stories. Most notably, the 2005 European campaigns attracted considerable interest from Anglia and BBC Look East.
In January 2006, the Ladies 1st XI won the National Indoor Championships, which was broadcast on Sky TV for a period of three hours and was followed by a series of interviews and news items. The advent of the Commonwealth Games in March 2006 prompted a lengthy news feature by BBC Look East on three of our players who were taking part.
In similar fashion, many reports, features and interviews have regularly taken place on BBC Essex, Essex Radio, Breeze FM and Dream 107 about the types of events listed above. In addition, weekend previews of 1st team matches and the weekly results round-up ensures that Chelmsford stays very much in the limelight, week in, week out.
Extensive coverage in the local and regional press is becoming the norm, with articles and reports appearing in daily and weekly publications in the north, west and south, as well as the centre of the county. In addition, the East Anglian Daily Times produces a two- page spread on Wednesdays and offers a Saturday preview which is generally dominated by the Club.
Two regional publications, Park Life and Essex Life, have focussed on Lisa Wooding, Ladies Captain, but have also brought substantial publicity to the club itself with extensive illustrated feature articles.
The release of the new Chelmsford HC website has coincided with a lot of success on the field of play and has proved a valuable additional tool with which to market the sport, the Club and its players at all levels. The latest statistics demonstrating the popularity of the site are available here.
