East Over 60's National champs.
Four members of Chelmsford vets hockey team were integral in the East Over 60's winning the national title over the weekend. With 2 draws and 2 wins and conceding only 3 goals they were worthy winners of the trophy last won in 2008. Players from left Andrew Hodge, Crawford McKee, Philip Hutley and Ken Wooding with the shield. The cream of the national Over 60 players were competing with many having current and past international honours. The final match against South was the clincher on Sunday which produced an East display which was masterful, going 3 goals up inside the first 20 minutes and getting warm applause at halftime from the watching crowd. South managed 2 goals on reply in the second half but to no avail.
