Chelmsford Hockey Club, based at Chelmer Park on the outskirts of Chelmsford, provides a friendly, family environment for more than three hundred hockey players aged from under seven to over seventy.

The club aims to create a safe, supportive and effective competitive sporting environment where fun and enjoyment are closely bound up with high achievement and a strong sense of community.

Many former and current players, coaches and parents work hard, through the structure of the youth committee, to run the youth section of the club, including coaching and managing teams, umpiring, fundraising, organising tours and generally ensuring everything runs smoothly.

As a youth member of Chelmsford Hockey Club you can expect to feel a part of Essex’s most successful hockey club. Young people from all age groups represent the club in Essex County and East of England Region teams. Many former youth section members have played regularly in the club’s First XI’s and gone on to play at full international level for their country.

Youth section members pay an annual subscription that opens up a whole range of opportunities: Coaching sessions, indoor and outdoor, throughout the hockey season, from September to March; Opportunities to play in age-group matches and tournaments against other clubs and schools; Opportunity to move into development teams, playing in adult matches under the supervision of adult club members; A wide variety of social activities and events that can be shared with all club members and their families;

• The chance to really feel that you are part of a wider community in which the members really value each other. Celebrate each others’ successes, encourage team work and put themselves out to make contributions that will benefit the whole club and all of its members.
